Experienced Legal Representation in a Changing Legal System
There was once a time in an America where courts ordered cookie-cutter plans that gave divorced fathers visitation every other weekend. Those times have passed. More than ever before, divorcing parents have control over the determination of the time they spend with their children.
For this reason, it is critical to work with an attorney who is current on the law, and who understands the investment that you have in the relationship with your child. My St. Louis, Missouri, law firm takes this approach. I understand that litigating child custody and visitation rights has become increasingly complex.
At the Kallen Law Firm, LLC, I often consult with expert witnesses, like psychologists and psychiatrists, who are recognized as leaders in their field to help my clients achieve their objectives in divorce litigation. I also take time to talk with my clients about child custody and visitation possibilities, tax consequences and logistics of any decision they make.
Know the possibilities. Talk with an attorney about your options. Contact the Kallen Law Firm, LLC, by calling 314.802.4948.
Missouri Child Custody and Visitation Laws
Missouri recognizes two types of legal custody: joint legal and sole legal custody. Legal custody defines the power you have to make decisions about major events in your child's life — like their health, education and welfare.
Courts in our state recognize two types of physical custody: joint physical custody and sole physical custody, but these definitions are constantly evolving. Joint custody does not mean 50/50 and sole physical custody does not necessarily mean that the father will not receive any visitation with the children.
Because of these changing definitions, it is critical to work with a lawyer with in-depth knowledge of current legal trends. To schedule a free initial consultation with me, contact my Saint Louis law office by calling 314.802.4948 or by completing my online contact form.
